About AlliGator Window
======================

The **About AlliGator** window can be opened using the ``Help:About`` menu:

It provides basic information (including the version number).

Since this is a modal window, no further action can be performed as long as it 
is open.

Click on the close button (``X`` at the top right) or anywhere in the window to 
close it.

When the window closes, the current AlliGator version number is sent to the 
Notebook, together with the date and time. This can be convenient to document 
the version used for an analysis, and the current date and time (although this 
information is also sent to the Notebook during startup and shutdown).
